Adaptations:
The Hercules Beetle has adapted in many ways. One major adaptation is their immense strength. Scientists believe that their strength is a direct result of their need to be able to forage on the forest floor for fruit, through heavy litter and debris, and to be able to dig a hole and hide themselves quickly in the event of a predator coming into the area.
Another major adaptation is the males horns. These allow them to look very fierce and dangerous, which alone is sometimes enough to scare off a predator. Horns also give the males very good tools with which to fight for females.
